ESSAY: The question with no right or wrong answer.

What is the meaning behind humanity? The definitive characteristic of humanity is the way we communicate. The way we socialize with each other, our need to read and write, and the many different ways we can communicate among each other. Us humans, have over 6,000 spoken languages today. In America, the main language used is English. We humans use our languages to communicate with each other, and there are many ways we communicate with each other. We communicate by writing, orally, and physically. Orally is the main way us humans communicate. Like I've said before, we have over 6,000 different ways to speak to each other. Well, not every individual can speak all 6,000 different languages, but everyone can speak either 1, 2, 3, or sometimes even 4 different languages. The different languages come from many differents parts of the world, and the many different cultures. A culture's native language strongly influences the worldview he or she will acquire as he or she learns the language. Speaking can help us humans learn just like writing can, but it's easier to evaluate how to improve when you have something right in front of you, and you can revise it as well.

By writing, we are able to communicate to others far away from us. Writing helps prepare us for school and employment, which in both cases require a lot of it. Writing helps us express ourselves and translate our thoughts for other people. Writing also allows us humans to reflect on our thoughts and ideas better than if they were to remain evolving in your head. Example, if my grandmother lives in Florida, I could talk to her by email, or letters through the mail. We humans also use writing as a way of communication to help us remember things for a much later use. Like, if I planned on going to the grocery store sometime later this week, and I knew I was not going to be able to remember everything I will need to buy, I could make a list of all the things I will need to buy. Writing basically helps us put thoughts, ideas, images, and parts of our knowledge onto a piece of paper for everyone to see. We can use writing to express our thoughts towards a certain topic, or a certain person or people. We use writing to help us brainstorm ideas onto paper, a computer, or any other electronic we can use to write to help us with a much bigger task we are trying to accomplish. For example, before writing this essay, I had to brainstorm ideas of topics I could possibly write about or incude. Writing allows us humans to describe an image in our heads onto paper. It helps us show each other things that we've seen and we want to share with others. Like, if I ran into a strange object on my way to school, I would write about it describing it as much as I can to paint a picture of it into another's head. We also use writing to help us educate both younger and older people. Majority of the students are kids, and we learn a lot about each subject almost every year in school. Subjects like math, science, english, and history. Writing also helps educate students with words from their language that may not be familiar with and teaches them the meaning of it and how to use it in terms of writing or speaking. One more thing that we use writing for are books. We use books as a way of helping us educate others, telling a story about a person's life, usually someone famous or well-known for something he/she has done, and much more.

Another interesting way us humans can communicate by is physically, or in other words, by sign language. It is said to be the 4th most common used language in the United States. According to Wycliffe Translation Organization, there are 400 over different forms of sign languages in the world but most of them are not very well-known. They also claim that tese forms can be similar to oral sign language, or American sign language. Most Americans who use any form of sign language are deaf. When communicating orally, intonation is one of the most important devices used to communicate. When communicating physically, or by sign language, sight is the most important tool for a deaf person to communicate and receive information. With this said, deaf people use hand shape, position, and movements of the body, gestures, and many other visual cues to form words. With no exception, sign language and any other language expresses it's features differently and has many rules for grammar, punctuation and sentence order. Just like the tones of our voices change when oral speakers ask questions, deaf people use their eyes and eyebrows as a sign of asking a question. Just like some English words are spoken differently in differently in different parts of the country, American sign language is also changed throughout different parts of the country with ethnicity and age being some examples of factors that affect the language an it's variety.

What's the meaning of humanity? I honestly have no idea, and I'm sure no one really knows, but this is my opinion on humanity in which communication plays an important role. Communication helps us humans express our emotions, thoughts, and our ideas and feelings can be shared. Communication is also important because we use it to network and to spread ideas among each other. Without communication, humanity will become isolated. It is a very important aspect of humanity because it helps us to connect with each other, and it drive the process of development in all the fields. With communication, we are able to send and receive information, be educated while interacting with each other, build and maintain relationships whether it is a business or an interpersonal relationship, and it helps us make decisions whether it's an individual or a group decision.

CE: What's next?

Google Plus? What? Geez.. sooner or later, our whole life will be on the internet! We already have facebook's updates, but now there's a WHOLE new site? this feels like the myspace days all over again! How everyone would be on myspace, editing their layouts, hacking their friends' profiles, demanding to be on each other's tops, where on his or her's tops they should be, etc. Because it was the main site during the time, it went through many, many changes. First, with the new profile layout, the abitilty to add for than one song to your profile, etc. because of the changes, everyone moved to facebook. After joing facebook, I'm pretty sure everyone's felt that myspace was dead and boring. If facebook continues to change, in ways that majoity of the users don't like, 90% of the users will leave facebook and will most likely join google plus.

Back to google plus, it was made to over rule facebook? well then, give it a few months, and it will be successful. I honestly believe that this will happen. It happened with myspace, and it will happen to facebook. but, video conference call to ten people for free? saywhuut. everything is gettng so fancy and shit on the internet. I remember when IM first came out on myspace, or when you can video call a person directly off of facebook. People, becareful with what you put on your profiles! you never know who's reading every single thing you do and/or say.

BC: One Halloween Night.

On the night of Halloween, Patty and her friends decide to have a little fun and drive to an old, deserted house near a lake about 100 miles away from where they live. Patty was the kind of girl that loved to watch horror movies and never believed in the stories they told. But after tonight, that all changed. Around 7 o'clock is when her and her friends decided to head to the deserted lake house. There were 5 of them, so they only took one car. On the way there, 2 of her friends were already getting scared and started to have seconds thought about going, but Patty refused to turn around because she was already over half way there. When they arrived, it was around 8:30 and already dark. " You guys ready? " Patty asked as she excitedly made her way inside the house. They all planned to spend the night there because of how far they were and the time. As they were moving their bags inside the house, one of her friends, Alyssa, who was the most frightened one there, noticed something strange looking near the lake, like a man. She turned her head saying " I'm just imagining it, " but just to make sure, she turned back to see if he were still there, but he wasn't. She turned her head towards the house, and she saw him, making his way towards the back of the house. She paniced. She screamed everyones' name, but no response. She got even more scared, and screamed everyones' name again. Again, no one respond. She noticed that the car doors were locked, and she remembers hearing Patty dropping the keys on a table inside, but she didn't know which one or where. They didn't get the chance to light any candles yet, so the house was dark and quiet, making her scared even more.

As she walked inside the house, she could hear every single move she made. She walked about the house with her arms straight out, so she wouldn't walk into any walls. The first thing she came into contact with was a very dusty, rough, wooden rocking chair. She walked towards the left of the room and bumped into a table knee-high. As she bent over to touch the table, she heard a bang against a pan in the kitchen and began to feel the goose bumps rise to the surface of her skin. She turned around, attempting to see any movement in the dark room, but she could not see a thing. Frightened, she quickly searched for the keys on the table making fast, rapid movements of the hands hoping to find the keys in seconds. SHE FOUND THE KEYS! Relieved, she headed for the door like there was no tomorrow. Until, BANG! she tripped over one of the bags and fell face first to the floor. She looked to the left, and saw a man standing 20 feet away from her. Screaming, she got up off the floor and ran towards the open door as fast as she could. Five feet away from the door, her friends show up laughing and saying, " GOTCHA! ". She screamed in shocked, and grew a beautiful smile on her face as she said, " Omg, you guys. VERY FUNNY! ". Her friends flashed their flashlights towards the man behind her, and it was Patty's friend, Brian. Turns out, Patty arranged the whole thing, and was successful.

FREE: Monday.

Ohmygosh. So, yesterday.. It was freakin' hot as hell and I was wearing jeans, a tank top, and a black cardigan. I felt so disgusting, sweating like a pig. I was walked home and as soon as I got home, I took off my cardiagan and sat in front of the fan for about 5 minutes. I would of stayed in front of the fan longer but I had to go meet my friends at Tapioca Express. So, I put my cardigan back on and walked to TapEx. When we got there, I ordered a level 2 Crispy Chicken, and dang! it felt like I ordered a level 15. It was so spicy for me, which is weird because I used to order a level 5.

While we were eating, my bestfriend's auntie was there so she asked if she could us a ride to my house. When we got to my house, we watched t.v. and my bestfriend wanted some pancakes. So, I made pancakes and we put nutella on top instead of syrup. I love it! After we had pancakes, my friend's dad came to pick her up. After she left, me and my bestfriend went to my sister's room and played black ops. It was fun! I got the most kills, wooo! we played a couple of games then she had to go because it was past 8 and she goes to Encinal so she lives on the other side of Alameda. It sucks, but now whenever we see each other, it's special. the next time I get to see her will, hopefully, be on Wednesday. If not, then we won't see each other until the Island Bowl and we forsure will have a sleepover that day as well. I love our sleepovers, they're fun. Well, that's it. Bye! Have a nice day! (:

CE: Filipino rights.

Wow.. After watching this video, I feel that it is unfair that Filipinos in the Philippines aren't being treated with respect, especially when they are only working for $18 a month for endless hours. Not only do they do chores, but they also have to take care of their boss's kids. Aside from working/babysitting, they are abused and harassed after making such little mistakes, like not cooking the right food, not fully completing what they have to do. They are maids, but they are being treated almost as if they were slaves. Because of this, they are wanting to leave their country for better salary and to be treat with more respect.

Most of the Filipinos from the Philippines leave to go to Japan, Saudi Arabia, and even America. I feel that the Philippines should be more like America with their rights and freedom. The bosses of the workers should treat them with more respect because of their low salary and hard-working dedication. If I were to ever become president of the Philippines, one of the very first things I would change would be the rights of workers, especially the maids. I would make sure that each of them are getting paid no less than what they are getting paid now and are treated with respect. This video has made me think about the freedom we have here in America and appreciate how us teenagers are not having to work at an early age to support our family.

RE: A Day Without Music?

I can't go through a day without listening to music.
So, I kept searching and searching through all my friend's blogs and I couldn't find anything. I was about to give up, until I finally found this from Christian's blog, and I feel the same way. In my opinion, I don't think anyone our age can go a day without listening to music. For me, music calms me down and it really helps me focus more on my work. There will be times when I will loose my concentration for awhile and I'll sing along with the song and sometimes I'll dance while I sing too, but some songs are just so hard for me to not sing a long and dance to it. haha, don't you agree? OH, speaking of music, I'm listening to music right now as I write this post. LOL, and I just stopped for awhile to dance and sing.
If someone were to be more specific and say, "I can't go a day without listening to the radio" then I would not be able to say I feel the same way. In my opinion, the songs they play on the radio gets TOO played out. When this happens, I begin to not like the song anymore and it gets old to me. Even if it just came out a month or so ago. With this said, I love listening to songs from YouTube stars. They never get old for me. I can listen to them 24/7, and not be tired of listening to them. I feel that the songs that aren't played on the radio sound better and I can relate to the lyrics more.

FREE: My weekend.

Friday, after I finished my homework, I hung out with my bestfriend. first, we walked around park st. because she was hungry. At first, she wanted a corn dog from Weinerschnitzel, but as soon as we got there, she changed her mind and wanted to eat a hamburger. So I suggested Nations. So, we waited for the bus which took about 15 minutes, and as soon as we got there, there were soo many people inside. Not only did we have to wait in line, but the making of the food also takes long. But considering that it was Nations, we waited & it was definitely worth the wait. So after we got the food, it was about 11 o'clock at night and we waited for the bus to go back to my house.
I don't really like hamburgers. Never did, I probably will later in life, but as we speak, I don't plan on it. haha, so because of this, I ordered Chili Cheese Fries, and it was m-m-good(: after we ate, we watched Just Go With It and it was pretty funny. Ofcourse, it ended how all movies end. You know, a guy and a girl get caught in some situation and one is there to help the other one with getting at a guy/girl. And during all this, they grow feelings for each other and end up being together at the end, but it was still good. The next 2 days, we went to the Jam Festival on Webster St. It was okay, I got a Flower shaped balloon from the clown. haha, then we went to McDonald's to eat, & then I spent the night at her house. we like to spend as much time as we can together because we go to different schools and we don't get to see each other everyday. Although, we try to. We try to see each other everyday whether it's a school night or not, we try to visit each other whenever we get the chance. And I'm glad we do.

FREE: School

Wow, the second week of school is finally over. The first day of school wasn't what I expected it to be like. Just like I predicted, I had homework for math on the first day of school. I thought it would only take me about half an hour, but my gosh, it took me over an hour an a half. thinking it would only take me half an hour, I started it late that night, and finished around 1. Every school night I fell asleep some time past 1, and three of those times I fell asleep while doing homework. No bueno!

This year is very different from last year. One thing that was a big difference from last year is the amount of homework I have and how much time I spend doing it. Last year, most of the time I only had math homework and it only took me about half an hour to do it with having any trouble. But this year, I've been having a lot of trouble doing my math homework, which is very unusual for me considering that math is my strongest subject. Besides math, I am also having a lot of difficulties doing my Hp Chem homework because of the lack of notes we take in class and because of the speed that we are going. It is very hard for me to keep up with what's going on in that class but I don't want to switch to regular chemistry because I like the way my schedule is right now, and there is no regular chemistry class 4th period. But oh well, I guess I'll just have to live with it.

RE: I'd be nothing if it weren't for my mom.

When I grow up and become successful, I will repay my parents every penny they spent on me.
This quote is from Pamela's blog. For some reason, this quote just caught my attention. I really like this quote because, let's be honest, how many times have you ever heard a person say these words? I like the thought of kids my age actually have a nice bond with their parents this close that they are willing to do this. I mean, I've never heard anyone say this before and I just thought it was sweet. Some day, I'd like to have one of my kids say this, not because I'd like them to really pay me back, but because it shows how much they love and care about me. Which is something really nice to know from a teenage kid. I say this because alot of kids these days say, "Ugh, I hate my mom/dad!", and I'll admit, I've said it before, but I've never really meant it.
I guess it's part of growing up. It's part of our teenage lives. Complaining about our parents because, even though we don't want to admit it or believe it, we are still kids and they just want what's best for us. I believe that, wether you're 3 or 17, you're still a kid until you are 18. Because 18 is the age where we finish high school and go on our own. Well, not completely on our own, but it's the time we go out and explore the real world. But anyways, ever since I was little, my plan was to get a really nice job and have enough money to buy a big house big enough to allow my mom to live with me, because I know when I'm older, I will miss having her around and spending time with her that I know I'd wish I did when she pasts away.

BC: My life story.

Well, hello there! My name is Josephine, but I only go by that name during school. At home, I go by my second name, Crystal. I like Crystal better than Josephine, but you can call me which ever one you prefer. My mom never really planned on naming me Crystal, but my sister wanted my mom to name me after her doll, Crystal. haha, hm, let's see, my parents got a divorce when I was only 3 and my dad remarried and had 2 other kids. I live with my mom and my sister, and every once in a while, I get to visit my little sisters down south. I love seeing them, they always make my day and we're always full of laughter. I feel like a little kid when I'm with them, haha. My older sister, Lala, is hella chill and cool too. She's like a bestfriend to me. We literally tell each other everything. We've always been like that since I was little. I'm glad I have her here for me because I can always have someone to talk to about my problems and will understand and be there for me. well, I currently live in Alameda, walking the streets at 5'1, fun size! aye! haha, I'm 15, turning 16 on March 12, and 100% filipino. But sadly, I don't fully understand Tagalog, just a little bit. But, hey! I'm getting there. I've never been to the Philippines, but hopefully I'll get to go there soon. hm, what do I like to do? I love to sing and dance. I was suppose to join a dance group over the summer but the guy I was planning on joining with got too busy and we never got the chance to sign up. But it's all good, I'll just have to wait till next summer. I also like to hang out with my friends, joke around, sleep and just laugh. I'm easily amused. I will laugh at the most littlest things, ever. haha, I always have a smile on my face, or so I've been told. People say I'm a nice, respectful, smart, awesome, quiet, shy girl. but once you get to know me, I can be very loud and you may think I'm weird. But, in my prospective, the weird ones are always the best ones to know. You'll always be laughing and just having a good time. School? ever since I was little, I've always been, what they say, a math goddess. haha, math has always been the one and only thing I'm good at. The two subjects that I've never been good at or interested in are science and history. I don't know why, but they've never caught my attention. In elementary, I used to be very athletic. I played volleyball and basketball. But once I hit middle school, it all stopped. I stopped playing sports and I never got back into playing them. I tried playing again last year, but I've gotten so lazy that I didn't wanna deal with all the running. haha, yeah, I know. Lame excuse, but it's the truth. My goals this year for writing would probably to have the ability to just write about whatever that's on my mind instead of only being able to write about something specific. I want to be able to hear the teacher say, " Begin writing about anything you'd like. " and I'd be able to do it without any problem. welp, I guess I'm done here. bye (:
